In 1998, Tucker got a role to star along-side Jackie Chan. Hit movies all in the same year: The Fifth Element (1997), Money Talks (1997), and Jackie Brown (1997). In 1997 was the busiest year of Tucker's career.
Tucker also appeared in in another film, Dead Presidents (1995). Films such as Friday (1995) showed Tucker's television-comedy styling was very different from his stand-up. Out of his American movies, these are the only good ones: A lot of his Hollywood output sits somewhere near the bottom of the barrel - it’s his Hong Kong stuff that’s essential. Jackie Chan is the greatest - this we can all agree on, but it’s definitely OK to mention that he’s also made a couple of duds.
